Carl Stuart Limited supply the Parker Balston range of high purity Nitrogen, Hydrogen, Zero-Air Gas Generators, and Generators for techniques such as GC, LC-MS, FT-IR, TOC, ICP, AA and NMR.There are tens of thousands of Parker Balston (formerly Whatman) gas generators in use all around the world.
Parker Balson Generators provide a safer, more accurate, and more economical choice compared with high pressure gas cylinders. All products are backed by a fully staffed field sales and service organization and a one-year warranty. There is no longer any need to buy and store excessive reserves as protection from late deliveries, transportation interruptions, or periods of tight supplies. As a result, you will find you have increased laboratory space.
Hydrogen generators have found universal acceptance, primarily as they only generate Hydrogen as required, removing a highly explosive gas from the laboratory. Zero-Air, FT-IR / Spectroscopy, TOC and Nitrogen Generators for GC carrier /make-up, Sample evaporation, and LC/MS applications are also available.
Carl Stuart Limited offer application and installation support and a full range of IQ/OQ and PQ services. We also offer preventative maintenance and comprehensive service contracts for the full range of generator products. These products include:
- Hydrogen Generators produce 99.99999% purity Hydrogen for Gas Chromatographs
- Zero Air Generators produce Zero Grade Air for Gas Chromatographs
- Ultra High Purity Nitrogen Generators produce 99.9999% purity Nitrogen for Gas Chromatographs and ICP Spectrometers
- High Capacity Nitrogen Generators for LC/MS, Solvent Evaporation and Instrument Nitrogen Applications
- TOC Gas Generators produce Hydrocarbon-Free, CO2-Free Gas for TOC Analyses
- FT-IR Gas Generators produce dry, CO2-Free Purge Gas for FT-IR spectrometers
- Membrane Air Dryers produce low dew-point instrument air to protect analytical instruments

Purify lower grade gases: Super-Clean Gas Purification Systems
SAVE €€€'s – A good quality purification system can be employed to purify a lesser quality gas (99.995%) to higher (99.9999%) quality Chromatography gas at a fraction of the cost of expensive chromatography grade gases.

Why Filter High Quality 99.9999% gases?
The quality of the gas at the point of use will only be as good as the components en-route to the instrument. Leaks, gas diffusion and contaminated gas lines will all reduce the effective gas quality.

If you drink clean water through a dirty straw you are still drinking dirty water! A good quality gas purification system should be used as close to the point of use as possible to ensure optimum gas purity for the analysis! |
Cost effective - single cartridge will purify multiple cylinders.
Highest Purity, Output Purity 99.9999%.
Metal / Glass construction – no diffusion or contamination.
Quick Change – No tools required, reduced instrument downtime.
NO Contamination of Gas Line during filter change – inbuilt check valves, reduced instrument maintenance and downtime.
Saturation indication for Oxygen, Moisture and Hydrocarbon (LC only) contaminants possible.
Change filters before introducing contaminants into instrument.
Lower cost gases can be used without affecting system performance.
Tool and contaminant free filter change ensure FAST filter change and reduced system downtime.
Higher gas quality at instrument Increase Column Life, improve system performance and reduce system maintenance requirement (reduced maintenance costs).
Lower bleed means better detection limits and increased quality of results.

How Can I Change The Filter Without Tools?
SGT has 2 system formats. Both formats employ check-valves that stop the gas flow when the filter is disconnected.
The SGT Super-Clean Click-On System uses a baseplate onto which the Filter is clicked into place and held on using a knurled nut supplied with the baseplate.
The SGT Super-Clean Click-On In-line system uses a Click-On connector in the gas line to connect to the filter cartridge. The Click-On connector design shuts off gas flow when the filter is disconnected. This system is designed to replace traditional in-line filters.
The filter's gas flow path is made from high quality glass and stainless steel. Filters can be changed easily, without tools.
Base plate design allows customization for your gas filtration needs.
