Now more structured samples such as set yoghurts whose properties can not easily be measured by Viscometers can be characterised in terms of set strength, hardness, cohesiveness, mouth feel etc using a Texture Analyser.
Variations in the properties of Powder Raw Materials can be readily characterised by the Brookfi eld Powder Flow Tester (PFT). Brookfield Viscosity Standards provide a convenient, reliable way to verify the calibration of your Brookfield Laboratory Viscometer/Rheometer. Brookfield Viscosity Standards are Newtonian, and they are available as either silicone or oil. Silicone fluids are less temperature sensitive than oil fluids.
Note: Brookfield recommends that all fluids be replaced annually.
Silicone Viscosity Standards These fluids are most commonly used to verify calibration of Brookfield Viscometers/Rheometers.
Accuracy: ±1% of viscosity value Excellent temperature stability
Recommended for use with Brookfield and most other rotational viscometers

Oil Viscosity Standards These fluids are used for specific instruments using cone/plate or Krebs spindle geometry. Also, certain industries may require use of oil standards.
Accuracy: ±1% of viscosity value Appropriate for use at shear rates greater than 500 sec-1
Recommended for use with cone/plate Viscometers at viscosities above 5,000 cP Recommended for Brookfield CAP series and KU-2 Viscometers and R/S Rheometers
Brookfield oil viscosity standards are hydrocarbon based, either mineral oil or polybutenes

Note: Other oil fluids are available – email brookfield@labunlimited.com for details. Brookfield Viscosity Standards are accurate to ±1% of the stated viscosity and are certified by methods traceable to the United States National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The selection of one or two fluids will normally provide sufficient measurement points to verify calibration of your instrument. All fluids are supplied in 1/2 liter (1 pint) containers complete with a certificate of calibration. CAP Oil Fluids are supplied in 150 mL (4 oz) containers.

HOW TO SELECT A CAP FLUID - Determine which viscometer is being used: High Torque or Low Torque. - Determine which temperature model is being used: Low Temperature (5°C-75°C) or High Temperature (50°C-235°C) - Determine which cone is being used.

Technical Support We here at Lab Unlimited are the only company in Ireland who can calibrate your Brookfield viscometer to manufacturer specifications, providing the most accurate and fully traceable calibration.
Preventative Maintenance and Calibration is not simply cleaning down an instrument followed by a check with a Calibration Standard. We verify the instrument 'As found' and then routinely change instrument wearing parts in the course of the PM / repair. The uniqueness in our service is that the Instrument is adjusted into tolerance and 'Tuned' to a Brookfield Certified Master Viscometer.

Testing Service "We will test your samples for you" To assist you in the evaluation of your powder for flow behavior, Brookfield offers a testing service prior to purchase. Provide Brookfield with samples of your product to obtain a complete test report. Data is presented in both graphical and tabular format for easy analysis and interpretation. The following example shows the report format and type of information that is presented. STANDARD TESTS This report follows four samples sent to our lab for evaluation. The specific graph for each sample is color coded for easy identification. Up to eight data sets can be shown on the same graph.
