Environmental / Microbiology

Conductivity, Dissolved oxygen and pH as well as Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) are measurements required for environmental analysis every day. WTW have laboratory instruments, portable instruments for use in the field and on line systems for continuous monitoring of these parameters.

Personnel safety is of major concern in the laboratory. Laminar flow cabinets and extraction cabinets are common place. Emphasis is increasing however on biological safety cabinets meeting either class 1, 2, 3 or 4 depending upon the materials in use in the laboratory. We represent CleanAir who manufacture these quality instruments.

Microbiological contaminants must be identified, counted and cultured. The"Compact Dry" series of dry media systems from Hyserve only require the addition of sterile water to regenerate the media. Plates for Total Bacteria Count, Coliform, Yeast and Moulds, Salmonella and other common bacteria’s are available.

Binder microbiological incubators and CO2 incubators allow temperature and atmosphere control for ideal growth conditions, whilst the Mart Anoxomat is a system for culturing anerobes and micro anerobes in any laboratory, clinical or industrial.

The plating of samples is made easy and safe by the use of Hamilton softgrip manual pipettes and Softouch electronic pipettes, whilst larger liquid volumes can be handled using Hirschmann bottle top dispensers and assisted lass pipettes.

Of course no environmental laboratory would be able to function without suitable microscopes. We offer a full range including Biological compound, Epi Fluorescence, Stereo microscopes and more basic mono- and binocular microscopes. Within this product line we also supply polarimeters and refractometers.
