Sotax Physical Testing
We supply a range of equipment commonly used in IPC, QC, R&D and stability labs for the important testing of the physical parameters of your pharmaceutical tablets.
The range includes units for testing Disintegration on Tablets/Capsules and Hardness and Friability for Tablets Only.
Powder Testing products include Tap Density and Powder Flow test instruments.
Below are detailed explanations of the different types of physical testing equipment from Sotax that we supply.
The Sotax DT2 is a world leader, very efficient, manual disintegration tester with electronically recorded results. The user-friendly SOTAX DT 2 unit is equipped with two basket-rack assemblies. Each basket-rack assembly can be controlled, started and stopped individually. The SOTAX DT2 automation option works with electrically conductive discs. Test end is reached when the disks give contact with the USP stainless steel mesh. This is a very reliable way to determine the end point. The option includes a disintegration time control unit with modified USP discs. Automated disintegration time tests help to overcome routine work and give more accurate results. |  |
Sotax have 3 hardness testers in the "HT" range.
Each of the 3 models are equipped with the Auto Alignment™ device which automatically aligns even the most difficult of tablet shapes, to prevent erroneous hardness measurements
The manual HT 1 allows the testing of five essential physical parameters: hardness, thickness, width, diameter or length and weight of a tablet. |  |
The HT 10 provides for the automated testing of the three essential physical parameters (thickness, diameter/length, and hardness) of up to 20 tablets. Weight can also be recorded via RS232 connection to a blalance . The 20-chamber feeder automatically moves samples to the testing stations for accurate measurements. |  |
The HT 100 fully automated system allows for automated testing of the most important physical parameters (weight, thickness, diameter or length and hardness) of up to 10 different products or batches. |  |
