After the great success of its first edition in 2015, Lab Unlimited is hosting once again a one day, practical seminar on Rheology & Viscosity Methodology. Presented in partnership with Brookfield Ametek, this seminar was specially designed with viscometer operators, including R&D lab technicians, production personnel, engineers/scientists and QC technicians in mind.
The course content will be delivered by Brookfield Ametek’s Hans Munnik. Avail of Hans’ 30 years Viscosity and Rheology expertise for tips and best practises to maximise reliability and repeatability from you viscosity measurements.
What you will get?
We will show you how to get the most out of your Brookfield viscometer or rheometer measurements by providing you with information, activities and techniques that you can easily understand – and use. We will also provide an introduction to Rheology / Flow measurement of Powders.
The workshop will be held on the 1st of December, in the Maldron Hotel, Dublin 24, from 8.30am to 4.00pm. See on map.
Registration is essential and the €80 registration fee includes the Full Course Material, as well as Refreshments and Lunch.
This is an amazing opportunity to discuss your applications and learn from technical specialists from Brookfield Ametek and Lab Unlimited. Download full Agenda.
It is my pleasure to invite you to our 1-day Rheology & Methodology Seminar in partnership with Brookfield Ametek, please register by purchasing your entrance online.

|The seminar will be conducted through a variety of mediums: presentations, videos and live equipment demos. The topics that will be covered on the day include:
How to get the most out of your Brookfield viscometer or rheometer measurements by providing you with information, activities and techniques that you can easily understand – and use.
The Fundamentals of Liquid Viscosity and Rheology with Practical Examples of how to ensure your Viscosity Methodology is suitable for your Newtonian and Non-Newtonian Fluids. By the end of the seminar you will be able to effectively characterise your materials as Newtonian or Non-Newtonian: Pseudoplastic, Plastic with Yield or Dilatant, and whether or not Non-Newtonians exhibit Rheopectic and Thixotropic behaviour.
How to effectively develop methods using Brookfield Ametek Guidelines and explore accuracy / limits of existing methods and delve into the effect of temperature on viscosity measurements.
Instrument verification check procedure and results interpretation will also be detailed.
Introduction to special adapters and geometry spindles to allow the measurement of viscosity of small sample volumes, difficult samples which may settle or very high structured materials such as gels. Guidance on the most appropriate instrument type and range for your measurement will be discussed.
Texture Analysis with appropriate test probes are at times more suitable for very structured samples and can provide more repeatable results. We will briefly introduce Texture Analysis and there will be an opportunity to see a test unit on the day.
