BIT 9500 Serum Substitute:

The BIT 9500 Serum was developed for the use in serum-free culture conditions that have a defined composition. It contains bovine serum albumin (BSA), insulin and transferrin in Iscove’s IMDM. The product properties include:

• Needs to be stored at – 20 °C
• The pH is set at 7.1 – 7.5 and osmolality at 300±20 mOsm/kg
• It needs to be thawed at room temperature (15 – 20°C) or overnight at 2 – 8 °C. Swirl the bottle to mix the contents inside and store at 2 – 8 °C for up to 1 month. Alternatively, aliquot and store at – 20 °C but do not refreeze once thawed. Use BIT 9500 at a final concentration of 20%
• The medium contains bovine serum albumin, recombinant human insulin, human transferrin and Iscove’s IMDM
• It needs to be deemed as potentially infectious and treated in accordance with universal handling guidelines
• It is not intended for any human or animal diagnostic nor for therapeutic use
