PTV 6000 Online Turbidity Meter Laser EPA

PART NO: 6-615

The PTV 6000 Process Turbidity Meter is a Class 1 Laser product which possess highly improved optical qualities to yield a very stable process measurement system. The enhanced stability of the PVT 6000 provides additional information that can be deciphered from the laser turbidity measurement and used as a separate parameter to further improve the limit of detection. This product includes an interlocked, non-serviceable, Class 3B laser. The two interlocks ensure that the user is safe and not exposed to the laser radiation. The PVT 6000 has additional features such as:

  • A drift compensated solid state laser of 685 nm
  • Limit of detection better than 0.0001 NTU
  • Range 0.0001 to 20.00 NTU
  • Laser safety interlock system
  • High sensitivity to small turbidity events
  • RSD Parameter for the prediction of breakthrough events
  • Excels at membrane filtration processes for drinking water, ultra pure water and any clean water purity monitoring

RSD Parameter:

The RSD parameter has been shown to enhance the sensitivity of detection through minor breakthroughs in different filtration systems. The use of the RSD parameter as a predictive indicator of pending filtration breakthrough requires an optical arrangement where a portion of a sample is interrogated by a beam of light with high energy density such as a laser. This makes the product capable of detecting the presence of particles in very low concentrations. Compared to a standard conventional turbidity meter which can only detect particles of 1.0 µm or larger, the PTV 6000 can observe particles of as small as 0.01- µm.

The RSD parameter in the PTV 6000 can be automatically viewed on the instruments touchscreen as well on mobile devices which are connected to the device itself. This makes feedback easy and accessible as the parameter should be based on each water treatment plants design and operational parameters.

Regulatory Compliant:

The PTV Series has instruments that meet EPA and ISO regulatory requirements. The instrument can easily be configured with additional features such as integrated flow indication, digital communication protocols and Bluetooth® connectivity. Everything the users need for calibration and verification protocols as well as other key accessories to provide a single source for turbidity measurement are supplied by Lovibond Tintometer.
