Compact but powerful – the ULT U100 freezer from Nordic Lab has recently been submitted to a Performance Test to validate the superior cool down performance of this model.
The ULT U100 upright freezer from Nordic Lab is a personal freezer for easy access and daily use in laboratories, hospitals or anywhere scientific research and storage of sensitive samples is required – e.g. viruses, bacteria, cell preparations and tissue samples.
Tried and tested by lab technicians all over the world, the ULT U100 has superior cooling capacity and will endure continuous use, despite high numbers of daily door openings in the lab.
To prove its great cooling performance (even under different conditions), Nordic Lab have carried out extensive performance testing on the ULT U100.
The report details the power and reliability of the ULT U100 from initial start-up of the unit , through a series of recovery and use case scenarios, important factors when choosing the right freezer for your laboratory.
There were a few tests performed:
- Pull down from ambient temperature (startup) – empty
- Cyclic operation - empty
- Door open - empty
- Pull up time - empty
- Pull up time – full
Performance Test Highlights:
- Regarding the pull down from startup exercise, the ability to pull down the temperature when the freezer is empty, the test found that the ULT U100 reaches -80°C in just 2 hours and reaches its set point at -82°C in 2 1/2 hours. This test is a great reference when comparing different freezers.
- In the pull down after door opening exercise, the ability to recover the temperature after door opening, testing found that the ULT U100 reaches -80°C in approx. 1 hour and the -82°C is fully recovered after 1 1/2 hours. In this test the door was left open for 1 minute and closed again.
