SonTek-IQ® Series

The SonTek-IQ Series is ideal for monitoring flows in canals, culverts, pipes, and natural streams as it includes a custom flow algorithm that has been derived from hundreds of field measurements. There are four velocity beams that profile water velocity along both the length and width of the channel – this is to ensure that the best possible coverage and most accurate representation of the velocity field is being met. The IQ Series also includes a built-in pressure sensor and vertical acoustic beam to work in tandem to measure water level. It is simple to use as all you need to do is input the channel geometry using the intuitive software and you will be outputting flow data within minutes.

The SonTek-IQ Series can work both in manmade and natural channels as it will collect flow and volume data from as little as 8cm of water. The five-beam pulsed Doppler design is Modbus, SDI-12, RS232, and Analog ready. It can be installed with limited to no earthworks and you can expect to receive quality data for your decision making.

SonTek-IQ Standard:

The SonTek-IQ Standard is for a tighter budget with the best quality data as it uses the powerful SmartPulseHD technology. It can measure depths of up to 1.5m in open-channels only and basic data parameters output for display or export based on dynamic, single integrated velocity cells.

SonTek-IQ Plus:

The SonTek-IQ Plus is a flow monitoring solution for larger canals and natural environments with depths of up to 5m. It can collect velocity profiling data from cells as small as 2cm across a channel horizontally and vertically. It offers the user complete flexibility in applications and detailed flow velocity parameters. The Plus can handle any irregular or naturally shaped channel of up to 5m deep where flow, velocity, or level need to be measured.

SonTek-IQ Pipe:

The SonTek-IQ Pipe is intended to be used as a bottom or top mounted flow meter but can also be used in most industrial or agricultural applications. It automatically determines whether the pipe is full, partially full, and identifies the best technique to use to measure the velocity of the water. The SonTek-IQ Pipe can provide accurate flow values in pipes from 0.5 to 5m using a special form factor.
